Ulumeşe is not the tree it was. The directorate records that lightning struck it in 2021 and it lost its crown; anyone going to see it should expect a damaged tree. It stands in Kocapınar Park at the junction of Ovacık and Kocapınar avenues, in the Ölüdeniz quarter of Fethiye, Muğla — which makes it one of the easiest monument trees in the country to reach.
It was declared a natural monument on 21 February 1995, on 0.15 hectares. Its age is not known for certain and is estimated at around 350 years. The measurements on the page give it as 20 metres tall and 2.10 metres in trunk diameter; the page does not say whether these were taken before or after the lightning.
Stated capacity is 20 visitors, and the site is open from 08:00 to 21:00.
From the Köyler Garajı in central Fethiye, lines 3-3, 3-40, 3-41 and 3-42 all serve it. Get off at stop 11 on Atatürk Avenue and walk 300 metres east along Kocapınar Avenue to the park.
