Scientific research is the only visit the Directorate General of Nature Conservation and National Parks records for Alacadağ Nature Conservation Area. The whole of it is forest and there are no facilities inside the boundary.
The area lies in Finike district of Antalya province and was declared on 1 October 1990. It covers between 423 and 427 hectares.
The reason for the protection is the trees. The directorate says the area holds more than twenty tree species, among them rare forest trees, with an undisturbed natural structure and monumental trees standing in it. Old natural cedars and maples are named as its principal resource, and red pine, ash, eastern strawberry tree, hop hornbeam, prickly juniper, gall oak and maples grow there.
Brown hare, wild boar, fox, Anatolian squirrel, lynx, chukar partridge, wolf, long-legged buzzard and lesser spotted eagle are the animals recorded. The area is about 10 to 15 kilometres from Finike, and access is from the town.

- Across Antalya as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from 10.1 °C in January to 28.6 °C in July; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in April, May, October and November; rainfall is heaviest in December (251 mm) and lightest in August (4 mm). Long-term means for 1930-2025 from the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM).
