The Museum of Lycian Civilisations is inside the granary at Andriake, in Demre — the imperial silo of the second century AD, which survives complete and standing and was fitted out as a museum for that reason.
The site opened to visitors in 2015 under a ministry project to build a reception centre and lay out a visiting route at Andriake. Restoration covered the buildings of the harbour city's southern settlement — the agora-plakoma, the cistern, the granary, the baths, a church and a synagogue — along with its honorific monuments. Paths run from the reception centre through the site, ending at the granary.
The museum has eight rooms, and most of what it holds comes from excavations across Lycia. The rooms are arranged by subject — Lycian history and geography, epigraphy, economic and social life, and religious culture — each following its material through time, with information panels, reconstructions and interactive displays.
On Andriake's disused quay stands a reconstruction of an ancient trading ship, showing how olive oil and wine were carried in amphorae.

- About five kilometres south-west of Demre, on the road that runs from the Demre–Kaş highway down to Çayağzı, today's harbour. Private cars and buses reach the site and the museum.

- Across Antalya as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from 10.1 °C in January to 28.6 °C in July; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in April, May, October and November; rainfall is heaviest in December (251 mm) and lightest in August (4 mm). Long-term means for 1930-2025 from the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM).
