On the high pastures of Yılantaş, 33 kilometres from the Araklı district centre and 64 from Trabzon, a rich growth of herbaceous plants covers the ground, and the yayla suits nature walks, plant study, birdwatching and cycling trips. A 10-kilometre stabilised road connects it with the small town of Yeşilyurt, which lies 24 kilometres south of Araklı and is ringed by many other yaylas, among them Ağaçbaşı, Taşbaşı, Arabinyurdu and Çukuryaylası.
