Every year on 29 June, a memorial ceremony is held at the martyrs' cemetery on Harmantepe Yaylası for the soldiers who fell in battle here. The yayla lies 26 kilometres from Sürmene in Trabzon province, and its pastures are used for raising livestock. The nearest administrative unit is the Yazıoba (Oviya) neighbourhood, 9 kilometres away.
