Beşikdağı began as an A-type picnic ground of 13.4 hectares, declared by the Trabzon regional forestry directorate in July 2014, and was leased to the Besikdüzü municipality for 29 years in October 2015. It was then made a nature park so that it could be used more effectively and serve visitors better.
Its recorded size has changed as the boundary moved: 13.4 hectares at first, 20.9 at the time of the nature park decision, and 21.71 in the data held today.
