The house was used by İsmet İnönü, commander of the Western Front in the War of Independence, as his headquarters; the museum created inside it opened in 2001.
What is shown are photographs of the İnönü battles, the front orders issued by İnönü and the other commanders, weapons supplied by the 1185th Campaign Main Depot Command at Akşehir, and weapons and military material gathered from the battlefield by the district governorate of İnönü. Copies of İnönü's dress uniforms are also displayed, along with local ethnographic material brought from the ethnography section of the ETİ Archaeological Museum in Eskişehir.
The building has two floors over a ground level. The ground floor is stone; the other two are built in the bağdadi technique, a timber frame filled and plastered over lath. The front and back of the second floor project in bays. It is an example of Ottoman domestic architecture and is registered as a single building.
