Pamukçu's hot springs are within the small town of Pamukçu, fifteen kilometres from the centre of Balıkesir. The water belongs to the sodium, sulphate and chloride group of thermal waters and carries boron and fluoride.
The provincial culture and tourism directorate says it is used as a supporting treatment for inflammatory rheumatic diseases, joint diseases, long periods of immobility such as those after orthopaedic or brain and nerve surgery, stress disorders, sports injuries and osteoporosis. Pamukçu has a hotel licensed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and a facility run by the Pamukçu municipality.
Getting there
Shared minibuses (dolmuş) run from the centre of Balıkesir to Pamukçu, fifteen kilometres away.

- Across Balıkesir as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from 4.9 °C in January to 25.7 °C in July; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in May, June, September and October; rainfall is heaviest in January (87 mm) and lightest in August (5 mm). Long-term means for 1999-2025 from the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM).
