The Yıldız springs rise about three and a half kilometres north-east of Yıldız village in Balıkesir province, with water at 56 to 68°C that carries sodium, bicarbonate and sulphate along with fluoride. The Balıkesir directorate of culture and tourism lists it as effective in the chronic stages of rheumatic disease, notably rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, and for back pain and osteoarthritis, soft-tissue disorders, recovery after orthopaedic and brain or nerve surgery, neurological illness, sports injuries and skin disease.

- Across Balıkesir as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from 4.9 °C in January to 25.7 °C in July; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in May, June, September and October; rainfall is heaviest in January (87 mm) and lightest in August (5 mm). Long-term means for 1999-2025 from the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM).
