Guide
Hisarköy's thermal field lies inside the village of Hisarköy, 17 km from the centre of Bigadiç, where springs rise carrying fluoride, sodium and bicarbonate. The Balıkesir culture and tourism directorate lists bathing cures above all for gynaecological complaints, and also for rheumatic disorders, chronic back pain, stroke, neuralgia and recovery after orthopaedic operations and fractures, noting a good effect on the skin as well. Inhaled, it says, the water can be used for asthma, chronic bronchitis and allergic upper respiratory conditions; as drinking water, for fluoride deficiency in diet and pregnancy and against tooth decay in children and young people.
